Life

Sometimes, even the noise of the fan gives u happiness,
At times, the street light coming from the corner window gives u relief...
Even the howling street dog gives u assurance of safety...
At the time of crisis, the least valuable becomes the most essential and the most precious
becomes absolutely obsolete...
Life is a jigsaw puzzle, where nothing goes waste, sooner or later every aspect is joined for its successful construction.

When you are fired

When we get fired,
hopes get charred,
confidence gets jarred,
career gets marred,
Income gets barred,
dreams get tarred,
Image gets scarred,
Plans get deferred,
Isolation is preferred,
Debts get incurred,
blames are conferred,
Ownership gets transferred,
sorrows get accrued,
and life gets screwed

Corporate Firing process

Mind has stopped,
heart beats have slowed,
lungs have swollen,
blood has frozen,
stomach is upset,
intestines are damaged,
decision is yet to come,
frustration is in the air,
tragedy and despair,
chance of survival is rare,
but hope is still there.......

Old Age

In the old age,
after completing the youthful phase,
man graduates to a wise old sage,
away from anger and rage,
living in a happy daze,
after saving life's entire wage
walking in the morning haze,
just feels like out of cage.

Unforgettable Love

Whenn u were in love,
U dreamt of love,
U believed in fantasy,
trusting that nothing wd ever go wrong,
But one fine day, u face reality,
and say it quits...
U cried then, and even now,
today ur past is forgotten,
but memories are still alive,
U waited then, u r waiting now,
days ve passed,so did years,
emotions have dried,so are tears,
but u loved her then, even now,
u missed her then, even now...

Relationship

Relationship is an arrangement between two individuals with a realization that no matter whether there is love or hatred, sorrows or happiness, failure or success, jealousy or appreciation, the bondage wd prevail till eternity unconditionally....

But due to over indulgence in pride n prejudice and splash of ego clash, this does not stay for long...

A thoughtful thought

If truth is principle, then lie is flexible,
If god is supreme, then evil is hidden,
If gold glitters, charcoal burns,
If intelligence is smart, then foolishness is hard work,
If friends are for joy, then enemy is for caution,
If education is for salary, then illiteracy is for wage,
If technology is for advancement, then sociology is for improvement,
If growth is development, then backwardness is opportunity,
If urban is sophisticated, then rural is natural,
If bureaucracy is corrupt, then democracy is strength,
If architecture is design, then engineering is ingenuity,
If expectations fail, then scopes improves,
If leadership resists, followers strategize
If wealth is valued, knowledge is respected

Let’s build an equal opportunity India

Most of the times, discussion makes simpler things complicated and complex where the real solution to an issue is often compromised with consensus.
In an urge to satisfy our ego, we often ignore the intricacies of a real issue.

Our politicians have neglected scores of these fundamental issues in the name of discussion since independence.

In a billion people, its not necessary that we have consensus for each and every issue, but hardly any politician would ever admit it.

Even in the 21st Century, India is one of the most backward countries of the world. Even today, millions are deprived of electricity, drinking water, schools, hospitals and roads. There are several India's within India.
For some India is rich, prosperous, 5.5% GDP growing and emerging India and for majority India is poor, neglected, orphaned and helpless.

Issues need to be addressed based on the grounds of morality and integrity and not consensus. Why is that a common man need to plead the government to pass a law to curb corruption, to provide basis infrastructure and healthcare. Isn’t it its responsibility? Why should be have hunger strikes, dharnas and mass gatherings for something which is our fundamental right and which our constitution has lawfully respectably granted us.

Does government plead us at the time of tax collection. When we can be law abiding, why cant they be citizen friendly.

Why did it take 4 years to sentence Kasab on which more than 50 cores is spend till now, a man who killed several innocent lives in a bloody terrorist act in Mumbai. Why was 2G & 3G spectrum auctioned at lesser price, why was coal blocks allocated to kin and kith of ministers for throw away prices where government lost billions which could have easily funded several developmental projects or even reduced our fiscal deficit to certain extent. Why is that we take everything for granted? There are lots of TV shows, debates, discussions, but gets easily forgotten when a new scam is unfolded.

Have we gained independence only to fight again, this time though internally, but lot more fearsome than the British Raj? We wish we had a Gandhi...

Gandhism is not only fasting... It was his determination, sacrifice, conviction, purity and love for this country that gave us our freedom. We salute our Father of Nation and wish we had him now to rescue us...

India has had a long history of corruption, that’s the reason we never were united per-independence as every Princely state allied with the British for protection. Otherwise we would’ve gained independence long ago.
We wouldn’t’ have relied on a South Africa returned Advocate to fight for our freedom.

Today, we are in the same situation, and our kids and grand kids would say tomorrow, that had India not been a corrupt country, we would been a developed nation today..

As a country, we waste a lot of money in the form of bribery, lobbying, corruption. These are national Income and should go towards nation building not Swiss bank accounts.. Similarly there is lot of wastage of natural resources and food items. Our resources are for our generations. We need to protect them. As a nation, we need to ensure that every single penny is spend wisely so that common man is not deprived of basic facilities for ages without burdening our fiscal policies.

Let us not discuss anymore. Let’s build an equal opportunity India for all Indian...

A thought you never thought of

Someone is waiting for u somewhere which u think only sometimes, but somehow u manage to meet that somebody in someplace, something u never thought...

Playful words

Certain things are just ignored...the audacity of authority, the veracity of sorority, the adversity of intensity, the purity of vicinity, the ferocity of the velocity, the curiosity of the opportunity, the unity in diversity, the reality of the morality, the density of vivacity, the elasticity of viscosity, the authenticity of the publicity, the simplicity of the ethnicity, the felicity of atrocity and the scarcity of capacity.

Missing You

I dont know, where you are,
Havent known you for long,
dont knw if you are meant to be thought,
dont knw if its worth waiting for you,
dont knw if I could ever reach you,
dont knw, if you could read my heart,
dont know hw far ve you gone,
dont knw if I still bother you,
dont know if I can be heard,
dont knw how strong you are,
dont knw hw weak could I get,
dont knw whether its appropriate,
dont knw if its in fate,
dont know,if I m meant for you,
dont knw if this wd ever last,
havent reached you yet, but havent lost you yet,
I m glad I feel it now,
dont know if it makes any sense,
yes, it sounds crazy and stupid,
but just cant stop thinking abt you,
I knw I dint stop you then and now its late,
but its still not a closed gate,
just wanna say come back,
wanna know, if you wish to...

Just a thought

It didnt exist, but had it been, wd ve changed my world..
It hasnt occured yet, but if happens, will definitely change my life..
It never seemed that way, but if it does, it will remain everytime, every moment..
You may think, its love, but no it isnt love,as it also has the tendency to fade with time...
Its just sheer expectation, overflowing responsibility, unforgiving ego, compulsive monotomy and uncompromising madness which keeps us ticking, even though deep within you dont wish too....

Please vote with conscience

It is rare to find truth,
Even rarer to find honesty,
coz, the ignorant gives his acceptance for everything u offer,
Seldom does he deny nor differ, making your belief completely hollowed and skewed,
far away from reality into the bed of lies and flattery...
But at the time of realization, the mood wd ve changed, strength wd ve subdued, sentiment wd ve maligned,
eagerness wd ve diluted, perception wd ve built, change wd ve enforced, interest wd ve compromised, confidence wd ve sunk, attitude wd ve faltered, belief wd ve suffered and ultimately truth wd ve died completely...
Shd we wait for another 5 years for a harbinger to change the current state... Please cast your vote with conscience.

Job Security Bill

When I encounter beggars in the traffic signal, I politely refuse by raising window glasses of my car. But doing so, I feel extremely guilty and shameful. I don’t know, if our politicians feel the same way..
I knw, I m nobody to advocate this, but as a commoner, I ve rights to question, if not to solve..
We have heard a lot of buzz on food security bill and its direct impact on the poor and needy and as a socialist, I wd be always grateful to the ruling party for enforcing such a pro poor bill. But the timing of the bill is a concern, as it seems more of a populist measure to garner vote bank than to honestly serve the poor.
The food security bill promises to cover 800 million people or 80% of our entire population. It’s good that at least poor will not starve. But does it guarantee me that I will never confront with the beggars in the traffic signals and public places anymore. Will the food security bill forbid the beggars from begging? Will it alleviate beggars to givers? Will it bring prosperity to the poor; or will it just feed the hunger and make them lazy.
The problem in our country is, we love to sympathize. When Japan was bombed in WW II, it dint sympathize its ppl, rather it made them tough and industrious. Norway taxes more than 50% of personal income to bridge the gap between its rich and poor. At any given point, the richest is only 12 times richer than the poorest. What I want to articulate is, there is a huge societal imbalance getting supported by an unrealistic approach. Sooner, this concept of aiding the poor will become suicidal to the entire nation. If we really want to alleviate poverty, we all ve to take the brunt equally. Let’s address every problem with a sense of urgency with the same level of eagerness and accountability. We need to focus on nation building, build robust social infrastructure to help create more jobs for the poor. Employment will give them more satisfaction and gratitude than having free food.Apart from food, the poor need potable water and electricity, education, connectivity, decent health services and sanitation, jobs and security of life.
For a nation, nothing is small or too big. If there is political will, anything is possible. We need to rise above our vested interests.
At the moment, the country is plagued by series of scams and corruption which our politicians outrightly deny. Be it bribery, nepotism, graft, embezzlement, lobbying, extortions, everything is happening without any fear of the law. If the law enforcers get mangled in corruption, how can they confront the criminals and promise fair justice.
Commoners like me are used to bribing for passport, ration card, Gas connection, Property registration, birth cerification, death certification. The list goes on and on. Wherever the final authority is government, there is corruption.Every government office thrives with corruption, but no action is ever taken.
I feel there are greater issues in our nation than the food security bill. It’s something like a fish pond being plagued by weeds. There is no measure to clear the weed for the fish to survive, but just feeding the fish will not help. We need to clean the pond for the fish to survive and multiply. Corruption is like a weed in our nation, which has been growing at a rapid speed. The urge and demand has grown manifolds and is eating up a major share of the economic pie.Food security bill also will fill the hunger of many law enforcers, who wd make sure that substantial funds gets routed to their personal accounts in the name of poor.
I frequently find police patrol vans collecting daily hafta from street vendors, biryani from local restuarants.Majority of the accidents take place in the highways, but the fine is collected in the city limit for not wearing the seat belt. I wish, we had the roads to flaunt our love for speed. I wonder, if we ever need the use of a seat belt in cities like Bangalore, where traffic jams are 24/7 and where 70% of roads are potholed.
I just feel that the ruling party has been gimmicking for last 60 years and it has given enough assurances with no results. It has failed to meet the aspirations of millions. Its action reminds me of Fair N lovely which promises to make us fair in 7 days. The party has taken 60 years, but still it keeps promising to making each one of us fairer. The poor in our country are the most powerful in the time of election and the most forgotten after that. They are just a means for rich political aspirations and dividends. If there was no poverty in India, we wouldn’t ve heard hour long speeches from our politicians as the poverty is a topic of debate rather than a challenge.
I feel, there are bigger issues in our nation which needs to be addressed and prioritized and the highest priority is dignity of its citizen. Begging diminishes our moral value as a humanitarian nation. As a common man, I don’t want to see beggars anymore in our streets. And I strongly feel, as a nation none of us wd ever want to see them either. Let’s work on a Job Security Bill, which will make working compulsory for an adult and forbid scrupulous activities like begging, sex and child trafficking and will have a greater impact on society than the Food Security Bill..

Natural forces and redundant states

I wish, in my lifetime, I see a paradigm shift in the functioning of backward states. Recently a devastating high intensity cyclone has struck the states of Odisha and costal Andhra damaging 264,000 houses and killing 23 people. The aftermath of the cyclone is followed by flash floods inundating many costal districts in Odisha. The worst hit is Ganjam district where the damage is estimated to be over 3000 crores. The casualty is restricted to below thirty which is commendable. The disaster management of the state and centre is well appreciated. A lot has been learnt from the 1999 experience. Throughout history Odisha has always been prone to cyclones and floods due to its geographical location and is considered to be the poorest state in the country. With these kinds of devastations which occur at least once in a decade, the state moves backwards in development and recovery takes a long hit. Isn’t it centre's responsibility to support weaker states and have a plan in place to address such issues? The state and the centre will apportion certain amount of fund for relief and rehabilitation and does it mean it’s enough. Is a sum Rs 400 and 25Kg rice per family enough? Does it end here? The entire backbone has been rippled and there is a need of greater support to get back the affected people to normalcy. Is there any concrete measure to withstand such calamity in the future with the objective of zero collateral damage? I know, it’s a long order, but the issue is that most of the villages in Odisha are made of hay and straw. Due to this, around 900,000 people have been displaced. Shouldn’t the government ban floating structures in the costal belt which is prone to cyclones? Can’t the gram panchayat in these belts follow strict rules to ensure such structure doesn’t mushroom in villages? I sincerely feel, if we and the government stretch a little, we can provide homes to the poor and needy which can withstand nature's fury. This will help us to reduce collateral damage and rehabilitation cost considerably. And being a 21st century nation, we can’t afford to discriminate between our own states. Unfortunately, over the years, we have observed a lot of disparity on the state economies. The rich states have always topped the developmental index in all basic parameters, whereas the poor have always been in the bottom of pyramid. It is centre's responsibility to balance this socio-economic imbalance within states. Regions like Vidharba, north Karnataka, Deccan plateau have always faced acute droughts and states like Odisha, Costal Andhra, Assam, Bihar Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh have always suffered the fury of flash floods. Can these states be left to sulk or can there be any hope of change. The centre and states collectively need to find ways to implement plans to tackle such destructive natural forces with massive aforestation, river linking programs and subsidizing concrete homes to the poor in low lying areas. We need to focus on economic development on backward regions to make our people of the weaker class to sustain such fury. The point is we can’t succumb to calamites after calamites. Our country even in the 21st century is not well equipped to fight any calamity. We lack technology, logistics, resources and political will. We have vast floating population, which is vulnerable and needs aid to survive in such terrible condition. We seriously need to alleviate the standard of living of our poor and empower them to fight such hardship independently. We need to put them under the ambit of insurance, so that their life and property can be indemnified efficiently and effectively without much government interference. Let the private public partnership bolster such economic developmental activities to face future challenges.
